Wildcats announces plans to add Women's Basketball & Softball.
MIDDLETOWN, CT – Connecticut State Athletics Director of Athletics Divine Jackson have announced that your CT State Wildcats are planning to add Women's Basketball and Softball beginning in the 2024-25 academic year. “There is significant momentum for Women's Basketball and Softball for our state, particularly throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, which makes this an ideal time for CT State to create more competitive opportunities for our female students,” said Jackson. “I am excited to hire our first coach and build our first team. I also look forward to seeing our team compete because I believe this will be an exciting spectator sport for our campus community.” “We are excited about the continued growth within our athletic department,” added Jackson. “We’re proud to offer the opportunity for talented student-athletes to pursue Women's Basketball and Softball at the collegiate level here atCT State and look forward to being a part of the continued growth of this sport.” CT State plans to hire a full-time coach by mid-Fall of 2023 to recruit and build a competitive roster in preparation for the team’s inaugural season in the winter/spring of 2024.
